Dear All,
There is a good flowering of Swamp Mahogany in the swamps along Church
Rd., Tuggerah, which has attracted large numbers of Noisy Friarbird and
White-cheeked Honeyeater (I gave up when I reached 100 for each species)
as well as good numbers of other honeyeaters such as Brown and
white-naped. There are also scores of Rainbow Lorikeets who regularly
engage in punc-ups with the Noisys. Access into the swamp can be gained
via high tension powerline easements as well as along the road. The
centre of activity can easily be found by following your ears. GPS users
will find it at approx. 33° 18.872'S 151° 25.910'E. There is still a
lot of bud still to pop, so the feeding frenzy should be going on for
some time.
Cheers,
Carl Clifford
