Shirley
just be sure that they aren't heading in the opposite direction at the other
end of the day - at the moment, my house in Turramurra (N Sydney) is under a
regular commuting route, where I see plenty of Musk Lorikeets heading east
in the morning and west in the evening. I've been observing this
"commuting" pattern at this time of year since we moved here in 1998. A
couple of times I've done a count on the evening commute - I think it was
July 2000 when I counted approx 1100 birds moving west between 4 and 4:45pm
(obviously the shorter daylight compresses commuting times).
