Hi all

Just inspected an Osprey nest on a moblie phone tower in the Ulladulla area.
No eggs as yet, but a very attentive adult. I guess this must be a southern
breeding record. Does anybody know the history?

I would be interested to hear from anybody who has been involved with osprey
nesting on towers before, Is it possible to relocate the nest to a tower
nearby, or build them a special platform. Long term, the tower owners would
prefer them to be elsewhere as they pose a significant OH&S risk to workers
maintaining the facilities.

I have been searching estuaries around here for years, looking for a nesting
pair. We have plenty of large trees. Maybe they don't recognise trees anymore.

Threatened species recovery or a shift in distribution associated with climate
change?

Mike
