I too watched, and enjoyed Pt. 1 of this doco.
There was a LOT of cultural and landscape stuff as well. The cultural
footage was interesting, especially as it often involved a link between
humans and animals. The landscapes set the scene BUT I kept wanting more
info about the animals.
e.g. Lots of footage of people caving. A short sequence of a blind cave
fish - there must be other animals!
Cormorants hunting fish for their human masters. What fish were they? -
(carp I think) with the cormorant being given a small fish (?catfish) for
food/reward.
At the end of one monkey sequence, where they fled the snake, not much info
about the snake. Would have been good to identify the final shot was of one
of the monkeys 'returning to feeding' and it was dismembering and eating - a
katydid - I think - but not mentioned.
I would prefer much more information about the animals, many more animals,
and less slow panned lovely scenery. And human activity.
But I will be watching the subsequent episodes,
Wendy
