This is well out of range. The closest Atlas record to your site is in
the Edgar Range near Broome, which is (as you mention) 800 km to the
north.
Are you able to enter the record onto Birdline Australia, see
http://www.eremaea.com/ and click on Birdline Australia.
Cheers,
Tim

Hi All,
I was down at Marrie Pool on the Maitland River (About 30km Sth of
Karratha)
yesterday and found at least 4 Pictorella Manakin there.
I first observed a male and 3 female perched on a small bush calling. I
also
observed 2 birds down by the waters edge about 400m away.
They were associated with large numbers of Painted Finch, Star Finch and
Zebra Finch. All were in seperate flocks, not too many mixed flocks.
I have heard of Pictorella Manakins from the Pilbara once before.
However
this is well outside the 'normal' range (800km Sth).
Cheers
Nathan Waugh
