Robyn....I was at Lake Bindegolly with Rob Morris just recently. You have to
hike a couple of kilometres before you will see water, but when you get
there the lake is very extensive with thousands of waterbirds. The problem
is that it is very difficult to get near the birds and you will need a good
spotting scope to identify anything. The area is good for other birds as
well. We saw Pied Honeyeaters, Chirruping Wedgebills, White-winged
Fairy-wrens, Orange Chats etc. On the lake itself: Black Swans, Grey Teal,
Pink-eared Duck, Australasian Shoveler, Avocet, Whiskered Tern, Caspian
Tern, Eurasian Coot etc

Does anyone know what the current state of Lake Bindegolly is? [Near
Thargomindah, SW Qld]
Last time I was there several years ago, it was very low, but I don't know
whether they benefitted from rains earlier this year. Has anyone been
there recently? I'd appreciate any info.
Thanks kindly
Robyn
