Hi all
A quick 3-day trip around parts of SA resulted in some good sightings.
Places visited were the Stockyard Plains saline water disposal basin near
Waikerie, Bookmark Biosphere, Flinders Ranges and Yorke Peninsula. The
following highlights are worth mentioning:
- a pair of Red-lored Whistlers being active one morning very early
- 7 Freckled Duck
- 3 Short-tailed Grasswrens, good views of one standing still
- 3 Western Whipbirds heard singing, and a a lucky sighting of one seen
flying low across the road
- 3 Malleefowl
- 1000 or so Banded Stilts
- 2 Slender-billed Thornbills (rosinae)
- 3 Elegant Parrots
More details on my website (below) and on birdpedia.
Cheers
Peter Waanders
