I asked for that, didn't I?  What I meant was "Forgetting the question of 
whether birds have knees".

Greg did say "Birds don't have knees and the joint that is equivalent to the 
knee in humans is well hidden by feathers".  Is there any technical reason why 
this joint shouldn't be called a knee, despite it being the equivalent of one?
