Having spent about 30 years snorkelling and diving and taking underwater
photographs, I can't resist saying that

Much as one feels for victims of shark attacks and their families, there
is an easy way to avoid being attacked. It's the same cure as for
sea-sickness - stay on shore. In my view governments should make going
into the sea illegal. It's a stupid thing to do anyway in view of the
multitude of potential dangers in the ocean. If we were meant to go into
the sea we would be born with, or develop, scales and fins.
