Conversation: [Birding-Aus] Car break-in at Lee Point, Darwin
Subject: Car break-in at Lee Point, Darwin
Darwin has a very bad reputation for many sorts of crime - if I remember
correctly we're highest in Australia for murder, robbery, assault and sexual
assault..
I warn my clients about birding alone. Areas of concern are Lee Point,
Buffalo Creek, the Esplanade, the Botanic Gardens, Mindil Beach, Rapid Creek
and East Point areas. And then there's Katherine, Jabiru and Alice Springs.
To anyone thinking of visiting, I suggest you ring Tourism Top End and see
if they warn you. I don't think they will
