Currently there is an interesting bird in Hessen, Germany. There is an ongoing
discussion about the identity of this bird:
New Zealand form of Australian Shoveler or Northern Shoveler x Blue-winged Teal
hybrid?
On this link: http://www.hgon-birdnet.de/birdnet/index.aspx
there are a few photos of this bird (unfortunately the discussion is in German,
scroll down to see the photos and klick on them to enlarge them).

I am interested in comments from people with experience with all plumages
(including 2nd year male) of Australian Shoveler.

Thanks in advance!

Nikolas
