Hi all,
Yesterday afternoon, during a wader count with Arthur and Sheryl Keates and
the NT Feild Nats, a Black-headed Gull was spotted amongst a group of Silver
Gulls. The bird was in non-breeding plumage, showing dark smudges over the
ears and some darker flecking over the crown, slightly smaller body size
than the surrounding Silver Gulls, shorter legs with a 'dumpier' appearance
and extensive white edges to the outer primaries, tipped black.
Lee Point is just to the north of Darwin suburbs and the high tide wade
roost is between Lee Point and Buffalo Creek.

I, and no doubt others, will check on the bird through the week to see if it
hangs around. I have a few digiscoped pics if anyone wants to see them or
upload somewhere for all to look at.
Happy birding
Al
