Nick,
I would suggest Capertee Valley (its entrance is about 200 km from Sydney).
Another good place would be a combination of Barren Grounds and Minnamurra
Rainforest (about 100 km south of Sydney)

Subject: Best bet for a day's birding out of sydney?
Hi Folks,
Can anybody suggest a good itinerary for a full day's birding out of Sydney
for a holidaying Brit? I will be in Sydney the last week of July and will
have a car. I will also have already birded Royal National Park (i would
also have spent time in daintree/atherton and darwin/kakadu) and so would be
interested in looking for a range of birds other than what I may have
already been likely to have seen. Would appreciate any suggestions - is the
Capertee valley too far?
thanks
Nick Brooks
