Many thanks to Evan and all
Re below. These were all genuine "observations" - but not today.
The two Bayside Council area ones are a result of my being something of
a
local bird recorder. Both observers had consulted the books... One was
able to check: the "Gagarney" was a Black Duck.
The Azure Kingfisher got into the Bird Observer's 'Unusual Sightings'.
I
let them know that the next day I saw a Sacred Kingfisher there and
noted
that its breast was "near orange". The closest creek (with the worst
water
quality in Melbourne) is about 8kms away.
As for the Braeside Park "Little Ringer Plover" (and I did use quotation
marks), it was identified by someone with all the gear (like a
telescope...). Using my bins it was clearly a juvenile Red-kneed
Dotterel.
Happy April to all
