Had good views of the single Yellow Wagtail this afternoon about 3.15pm
at Wagtail Way on Ash Island, near Newcastle NSW. Viewed it through the
spotting scope and could see the grey head, olive back with darker
flight feathers, white eye brow, yellow breast and belly. The bird had a
distinct white chin but the white did not appear to go down onto the
throat as indicated in Pizzey & Knight Ed8. Theo Tasoulis saw it at the
same location yesterday.
