Maybe the Wet season pushes the Wagtails further south - places such as
Newcastle, Sydney or Werribee.

Subject: Yellow wagtail at Tyto Wetlands - where now?
To:
Yellow wagtail (simillina) seen one morning only at Tyto Wetlands
before Xmas. Others seen in small groups around Ingham in previous
seasons all vanished after the Wet started. Since it's been wet all
down east coast this year, where do the wagtails go before taking off
back north? And, any advice on getting Little bitterns to come out of
hiding?
