Hello all. Speaking of dodgy ticks and feral populations. The other day I
was driving through Cunningham's Gap in SE Queensland (Main Range National
Park) and spotted a pair of Peafowl beside the road. These birds seemed to
be a long way from any farms or habitation. For those that don't know the
area, it is lush rainforest. Pizzey and Knight says that there are
semi-feral populations in SE Queensland, and I was just wondering if any
Queensland birders know where these populations are supposed to be. And what
habitat do Peafowl require? And, No, I haven't ticked them (Even though I am
sitting on 399 Aussie birds!).
Cheers Steve Murray
