In the ongoing Canada Goose discussion, somebody talked about the introduced 
COMMON MINERS!
This is absolutely wrong:
MINERS are honeyeaters and are native to Australia.
You were talking about COMMON MYNAS (aka Common Mynahs), which are introduced 
starlings from Asia.
I had to explain to non-birding Australians many times that Noisy Miners are 
native, but I am surprised that this needs to be explained in this group too :-(
