Dear Birders,
Following the recent correspondence regarding the split of Vanuatu Petrel from
White-necked Petrel ther is now an opportunity to see specimens of both species
side by side. The Australian Museum in College Street, Sydney holds the type
specimen fof the Vanuatu Petrel and recently received a specimen of the
White-necked Petrel.
Walter Bowles has very kindly offered to make both of these specimens available
for inspection at the Museum at 1:00 pm on Thursday March 6, 2008. If you would
like to attend please let me know so that I can collate numbers and advise
Walter. He will then select a suitable room in the Museum for us to see the
specimens. Once this has been decided I will circulate meeting place details to
all interested birders.
Hope to see you there.
