Following on from the discussion about Ninox owl ID points i went out to Cumberland SF (West Pennant Hills, Sydney) with my Dad and my 1 year old daughter at lunch time today and photographed a Southern Boobook.

I have uploaded a couple of images onto my website if anyone is interested in following up on the excellent points given by Greg Clancy and Sean Dooley earlier.

There are some images of Barking Owl too - (the one that Chris Charles found in Chatswood last year) which make a good comparison.
