I have recently bought some bottles of Brown Magpie Pinot Noir. Nice Wine!! But as a lifetime studier of the Australian Magpie I have never heard of the "rare" brown magpie that the winery professes to have living in!! None of my bird books mention the race. Do you think they have drunk too much of their own wine?? I wonder if Professor Gisela Kaplan from the Armidale Uni would have heard of them - she has written books on magpies and spent 10 years studying them all around Australia !! Any comment?
