Thanks very much to all those who responded to my requests for
information on swags and the Tanami Desert Road. I could not respond to
so many personally. From the information gained it appears a good swag
is invaluable for short quick stops and a tent is best for longer stays.
A Subaru Forester is likely to drive the full length of the Tanami
Desert Road with no problems provided I follow basic common driving
sense and have a second spare tyre and one of those puncture repair kits
where you force a rubbery thingy with glue on it into the hole in the
tyre and have a pump to pump the tyre up again. I already have this set
up as recommended last year by Richard Baxter and it works very well.
Thanks again to all
