G'day from FNQ,
About 15 Fork-tailed Swifts, 40 White-throated Needletails and 200 White-rumped Swiftletts feeding west of Tarzalli this morning. Smaller numbers (?15%?) of the three species near the Nerada Tea Plantation and just Swiftletts at Lammonds Hill to the east.

Blue-faced Parrot-Finches are present but difficult to see along Gourka Road, Butchers Creek. The most we saw in one place was three. They are really skulking.

There was fresh lichen on the Golden Bowerbird bower but no bird this morning while we were there. Tooth-bills are still calling but loosing interest. Riflebirds have stopped displaying.

Bowers Shrike-thrush nesting between the Curtain Fig and the exit to the boardwalk.

Fifty plus Red-tailed Black Cockatoos near the strawberry farm east of Atherton on the Gillies Highway.

Regards,
Alan Gillanders
