Hi John,

You wouldn't expect the Australian Raven in Coffs Harbour as it is confined to the high country in north-east NSW. The common corvid there is the Torresian Crow. The Forest Raven was first identified near Coffs Harbour, at Bongil Bongil National Park, by David Secombe about 15 years ago. Since then I have recorded it regularly north to Moonee Beach. It can be locally common, especially close to the coastline but I would never have considered it to be the most common corvid there. In some areas Torresian Crows appear to be competing with the Forest Raven with the latter apparently losing out.
