An up-date on the CI Malayan Night Heron. It was on the Blow Holes Road
before the 4WD track starts about 2-400 m each side of a red bore pipe
surrounded by 4 posts banded like barbers poles (right side of road
driving-in). Easy to find and photograph last Wednesday to Friday when
Peter's group left. Not certainly seen since then by Peter & Carol Abbott
(who leave today).
Warning. Some National Parks staff seem to be confusing this bird with Nankeen Night Heron which has been resident at the Dales since 2001. Mike Carter 30 Canadian Bay Road Mount Eliza VIC 3930 Tel (03) 9787 7136 |
