I had a similar plan, and used Google Earth to choose a route making the
most of the local vegetation as cover, and a quick dash across the road
to the entrance. It mostly worked, though the queue left me stranded
in the open... I met the local Greens senate candidate, Kerry Tucker,
so it seemed rude to decline a how-to-vote card. The other was from an
ALP helper, who must have mistaken me for someone else: "Kevin?"
Running the gauntlet of the local primary school teatowel and cookery
book hard-sellers on the way out was more harrowing that avoiding the
party reps. on the way in! ;)
My own ballot list was far more modest than others:
Galah
Red-rumped Parrot
Pied Currawong
Rugrattus sp.
