Gooday birders

I occasionally use call playback for owls using a megaphone connected to
a portable CD player or MP3 player. It produce a nice clear loud and
directional sound. However, this is an awkward system to carry any
distance. Can anyone offer some advice on a small speaker system that I
could use and is easily portable in a back pack.
