Hi all

As you have hopefully worked out, when I jumped onto Birding-Aus with my
request I was annoyed that my friend kept answering my arguments with
'the expert said'. I hadn't even paused to think that the bird might be
flightless!!!

To those who were annoyed by my original posting, my apologies.

Regards
Val

Hi Val, Dave, et. al.,
Tasmanian Native Hens are indeed flightless, and there is no way this
'expert' could find them turning up this time every year in the
Grampians. I suggest they have been seeing Black-tailed Native Hens,
which are similar, though much smaller, and a bit differently
coloured. They do at least fly!
