VEAC Red River Gum Forest Investigation - Draft recommendations. Comments close 8 October.

Readers interested in the Victorian Red River Gum Forests are encouraged to 
make comment on the Victorian Environment Assessment Council (VEAC) Red River 
Gum Forests Investigation - draft recommendations, recently issued by VEAC. 
Birds Australia - Victoria has some suggestions for submissions on its website 
at http://www.babblersnest.com/news.html . Links to the VEAC site and the draft 
proposals may be found through this link. The recommendations which are quite 
good for the environment are being strongly contested by cattlemen and 
foresters, so consider giving as much support as possible. Comments on the 
recommendations must be made by 8 October 2007.
