Painted Honeyeater have returned for the breeding season to Mt Lonarch, between Avoca and Amphitheatre. There were 3 birds, calling loudly. This is the third consecutive season this species have observed there. The birds were seen last weekend (22-23/9) but may have returned any time up to 4 weeks prior to this. Lots of other birds are nesting.
