Pizzey and Knight 8--poor picture quality

I saw a copy of P & K 8 in a bookstore today for $29-95 and was tempted, but
on looking at it I saw that the plates were very poorly reproduced, compared
to my copy of the previous edition. The colours were all wrong, and some
plates looked positively blotchy.

Is this just a fault confied to one batch, or have other people noticed this
(look, for example, at the Honeyeater pages).
