On Sunday afternoon I was driving through Whittlesea when I saw a helmeted cyclist riding erratically on the grass verge opposite the old pub. he was attempting to dodge a furious attack by a male Magpie - In dodging he pulled his bike up on its hind-wheel and went over backwards, and landed lying on his back. He was lucky not to strike his head on the concrete kerb at the roadside. When last seen he was lying there with his bike on top of him, having pulled the wheel so it screened his face. Traffic was too great for me to stop there to ask if he was okay. He looked all right if shaken. It must have been very unpleasant for him.
