I have seen warnings in the US telling men to remove their wallets from
their top pockets before travelling in their transport. This has  caused
chest injuries cause by wallets being pushed by the airbags (especially
those full of plastic cards.) First time I have heard of bins. Causing the
damage.

Hi All, 
Just read a US report of a birder who rolled his car while driving 
With his Swarovskis around his neck; the airbag inflated and crushed the 
Bins into his chest with resulting fractured sternum and ribs plus punctured

Lung. He survived after a stint in Intensive Care.
