That's sad news but Vincent led a good and productive life. He
revelled in some of the great sights of nature and shared his love
liberally. Vincent was one of a couple of people who inspired me in
my childhood in the 1960's. I met him at Lake Kathie on the NSW mid-
north coast in the early 1970's and he was just as portrayed on the
telly. I've had a number of dealings with him since but he sounded
very old when I last spoke him in 2006.
People like Vincent never really die as the legacy of love of nature
and respect for others such as he possessed will always resonate
through the actions of those whom they inspire.

I remember being sat down to watch it in primary school. I could be
wrong but about all I remember of it is that the sound track had a lot
of flutter in it.

I just found out that Vincent Serventy died last week.
Younger folk might not know of Vincent but I well remember
watching 'Nature Walkabout' on telly when I was a kid (late
1960s). Vincent and wife Carol and kids were given a 4wd and
a camper and told to travel Australia and make a natural
history TV series. It captured my imagination and 20 years
later I did a similar trip with my wife and kids.
