Dear John
I remember Edna as a very good horsewoman who took part each year at the
Mount Isa Rodeo as one of the officials who were ever-present, on
horseback, on the arena. That was back in the 1960s or so. I assume she
came in from one of the adjacent stations, as they mostly did. She really
looked the part.
Much later, she was in charge of the pound in Mount Isa. That would have
been after 1974. I imagine after she had left her previous occupation.
Sorry I don't know more, but I agree she was probably a very interesting
character.

Dear Birding-Aussers,
While driving home this evening, I heard an item on Radio National about the
death of Edna Jessop (or Jessup?) in Mt.Isa.
She seems to have had an extraordinary life. I did a google search but
couldn?t find much. Can any of our Queenslanders tell me anything more about
her?
