I was at the AFL game on Friday night between Eagles & Pies in Perth and I am sure it was fairy martins that I could see hawking the insects attracted to the light towers in the early part of the evening. Later in the evening they appeared to have been replaced by small bats. It was a difficult environment to twitch in and nobody around me was in the least bit interested in the feathered birds at that stage of proceedings. Was there anyone else at the game who might have noticed them and if so what was their identification ?
