A few days ago, Eric Finley asked whether White-headed Pigeons are
unusual at close to 1000m in the Blue Mountains. They are certainly
more of a lower-altitude species here, but do sometimes occur in the
upper mountains, e.g. Katoomba Falls, and Blackheath. They are one of
those birds that appear to be increasing their range due to the
abundance of fruit-bearing weed plants.
