Greetings,
Had to go to Cairns this morning and while Maria was busy went to the Esplanade as one does! The tide was just right and the waders were in abundance.

3 Golden Plovers with varying amounts of black.
4 lesser Sand Plovers
2 Greater  "    "
20 Sharptailed Sandpipers
2 Terek             "
9 Black-tailed Godwits
13 Bar-t            "
~ 100 Great Knot
Many Red-necked Stints including birds in remnant breeding plumage and young birds
~ 40 Tattlers

also present on the mudflats were Royal Spoonbill
Aus. White Ibis
Pelican
Gull-billed terns
Caspian Terns
Curlew
Whimbrel
3 sp Egret
White faced Heron
Silver Gull

In the trees behind were most of the usual suspects. In haste,
