Hi folks A report of a Rufous Owl was recently brought to my attention. This bird was brought to a wildlife rescue service near Merimbula on the far south coast of NSW! I too was doubtful, and could only ponder that it was an escapee. But I have no idea where from. The wildlife rescue lot at Merimbula are at the local fauna park! I have yet to see any photos of the bird, but I've requested some and am still waiting. The rescue assistant that I emailed was pretty adamant that it was a Rufous Owl. Down that way it is possible to get powerful, masked, sooty, barking owls, boobook, and maybe barn owl. Cheers Anthony =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
