you didn't say what the rest of your family will put up within terms of birding activities (always worth knowing in case someone suggest the local tip! : ) There should be a report from me in the archives from July 2006 or thereabouts... - Urunga (south of Coffs) is a good coast/estuary spot with a nice boardwalk out to the river mouths. - Dorrigo Nat Park - has some good, easy walks in rainforest and I think that the surrounding areas are a Forest Raven haunt
- Red Rock and Woolgoolga to the north also good estuaries
- Some good walks up Coffs Creek and in the Botanic Gardens, plus the mutton birds at Mutton-bird Island? Coffs Harbour City Council does a good "bird routes" brochure - try their website www.coffscoast.com.au.
