Hi Peter,
At the bottom of the hill below Barren Grounds (from Jamberoo) is the
Jamberoo Valley Lodge (2km or so).

I've stayed there a bit as it allows you to do dusk and dawn
comfortably. They have dinners, mostly home cooking style and a good
breakfast so you can go up for dawn and come down for a leisurely
8.30 breakfast which is always good.
They often have good birds in the grounds such as Wonga and White-
headed Pigeons. You could also try spotlighting on way up/down as
Sooty Owl have been recorded here in the past.
Good luck.
Alan

No responses yet. Stumbling around in the archives I've come across
many mentions of Barren Grounds, which sounds pretty good. According to
the map it's about 150km from Goulburn, so I might be able to get there.
Does anyone know where the nearest accommodation is to there? I'd
rather stay as close as possible than travel each day.
How long is it worth spending there?
