I had a similar reaction to the tapes (I am not sure if the announcer on the tapes is the same as the CDs but having bought the tapes, I'm not getting the CDs). I think the person doing the announcements is not that familiar with the way that many bird names are usually said. There are several strange pronunciations therein. As for the eg given, when I first saw the name, I thought it was "Kiss ty cola" but now call it "Cyst ic ola". Philip |
