Yes, Ravens and Magpies do this sort of thing all the time in my back
yard - of all things they dip them in the birdbath and it makes quite a
mess.

A friend of mine, Alec Moody, reported that he saw a raven pick up a 
piece of dry bread, then fly over and dip it in water before eating it. 
Is it common for ravens to show this sort of taste?
