G'day all

Following on from the early arrival of the Shining Bronze-Cuckoo a few days ago, today I heard a Brown Songlark in a paddock south of Hamilton (on the Dept of Primary Industry research farm). Brown Songlarks are present here most years and are one of the last migrants to arrive. The mean date from my records going back to 1986 is 15 October. The previous earliest record is the 16th September 1997. So this bird is a good 2 weeks earlier than the previous early date and about 6 weeks earlier than the mean.

Any other Brown Songlark records from southern Victoria yet this season?

Cheers
Steve
