Hi Shirley, & Stephen and others whose messages were a little less serious. Stephen's comments are along the lines that I would have thought. I was not actually asking about should we do that sort of thing. It was not me who put out bits of sausage for them. I was just asking does anyone have any relevant experience on having done that, to pass on to my brother, without any particular expectation either way. I agree with the comment about "I'm not sure why a Baza would be expected to take bits of sausage or recognise it as food". However I wonder at the implied thought ("The Baza would be among the raptors least likely to notice or take") that they would be less expected to take such offerings than other raptors. I would think most raptors would be similar in that respect, apart from those, such as Black & Whistling Kites, that are typically scavengers. Maybe if the sausage was green....... Philip |
