The other day at Marla in SA, I was watching some chestnut rumped thornbills when I saw at least one(maybe more) unknown thornbills. The bird had chestnut rump, black sub terminal tail band and white tip. Eye appeared dark. birds back appeared a greener colour than chesntut rumps it was with and on side of chest was a rufous/chestnut wash a bit like a white eye. Any ideas? Is it an immature?
