G'day allHad a vocal Shining Bronze-Cuckoo in the garden this morning. My records going back to 1985 show this species arrives between 28th August and 1 October. The mean date is 10th Sep. So this is the earliest. Very much a spring day here with cuckoos calling, Red Wattlebirds chasing New Holland Honeyeaters and a pair of Black- shouldered Kites doing a courtship flight over the house. Oh, and the magpies have begun their swooping season as well. Looking for more rain very soon now.
