Dear Australian Birders - Peggy and I have been enjoying our trip to Australia thus far. We have seen well over 110 species in the five days we've been birding, as well as a host of mammals. However, with the exception of a BARN OWL on the road between O'Reilly's and Bowerbirds Guest House, we've not had any luck with night birds. Tomorrow night (Sunday the 19 August) we hope to try the Mount Cootha area. We are staying in the Toowong area, so it is an easy drive for us. Can folks give us a quick RFI on the area, specifically for Frogmouths (either species) and Powerful Owl? Or, is anyone from the group interested in accompanying us? We'll treat you to an Indian dinner! Thanks for letting me know!
