Went to the local farmers market at the Inland Botanic Gardens between Buronga and Dareton (opposite Mildura in SW NSW) and noted a few good birds while wondering around. A Rufous Songlark was in full song, while a Rufous Whistler was alo calling. Good views of a female Brown Goshawk were had and a Major Mitcheel Cockatoo was also present. Some Lorikeets flew over, but didn't get a good enough view to ID (amd hoping to get back tomorrow to chase them down as I suspect there might be both Musk and Purple-crowned). Also saw a few male Brown Songlarks displaying on the Hay Plain on Tuesday, though I have some suspicions that a lot of these don't migrate and are just skulking over winter.
Cheers,
Peter
