Last November when trying (but failing) to find the Grey Headed Lapwing at Burren Junction we saw what we assumed was an Eastern/Pale Headed Rosella hybrid - it was pretty similar to the bird described in the first email. As far as I can remember the birds it was with were Pale Headed Rosellas which made it very obvious. We didn't really give it much thought and assumed that such things were relatively common.
